We pulled together 35 startups that closed a seed or Series A round of $10M or more since January 2024, spread across 16 countries, using data from Flot.Bio Map. Here’s who they are, where they are, and how much they raised.

Three Trends Behind the List
Europe’s startup map is wider than its hubs. The UK leads with five companies and Germany, Switzerland, France and Denmark have four each, but the other 14 places are spread across 11 countries, from Arctic Therapeutics in Iceland and Atrandi Biosciences in Lithuania to Telum Therapeutics in Spain.
Seed doesn’t mean small. Nine of the 35 are still at seed stage, but several raised seed rounds of Series A size, led by Avidicure, Aptadir and DISCO Pharmaceuticals.
Fresh money, early science. 14 of the 35 rounds closed in 2026, and most of the companies are still pre-clinical. A few are already in the clinic: ReproNovo is running a Phase 2 trial, and Arctic Therapeutics’ lead drug is in a pivotal Phase 2b/3 study.
How We Picked Them
We picked them based on early-stage funding success, technology and company activity. We started with companies headquartered in Europe (including the UK, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland) developing therapeutics or enabling technologies, whose latest equity round was a seed or Series A of $10M or more that closed on or after 1 January 2024. To give a fair picture of the whole continent, we balanced geography with round size, so we could find promising startups in as many countries as possible.

Round sizes are in US dollars, rounded to the nearest million; rounds announced in other currencies are converted at the rate on the round’s date. Where a company raised its round in several closes or extensions, we show the total; Tribune’s figure includes its seed, Brenus’s is its total raised to date, and Maxion’s figure is its 2025 Series A (it raised a separate $16M Series A in 2023).
